how will water be recycled in the future?
In China, a lot of the health and social problems emerge from the fact that more than half of China’s water supply is polluted. Every year 190 million people become sick in China due to water pollution. Water shortages are also a huge problem and the Chinese government is in the process of a five year plan that aims to deliver safe drinking water to all town and city residents. Guangzhou are not ahead of anyone in this area unlike others as they along with many other cities failed to meet the standards for groundwater in a national evaluation in 2011. So far the most sufficient plan for recycling water is to use the waste water from showers and toilets for industrial purposes and for flushing in new residences but this type of water management plan is impractical for the majority of households in Guangzhou and therefore to install the necessary plumbing would be of extremely high cost for the economy, because of these facts this plan has not been used and Guangzhou at the moment have no current ideas for how they will recycle water in the future. In the meantime however their solution to polluted water is putting cheap purifiers in all homes to stop poor quality water.
how will pollution and car use be looked at?
To prevent future pollution from cars and other vehicles, Guangzhou have issued a ban on car use if the air quality index is to exceed over 300. It is said that there are to be over 2.5 million vehicles on the roads in Guangzhou and to try and ease the pollution being released into the air from these vehicles the government have said that cars will be banned from the roads depending on whether their number plates are odd or even. Police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, emergency repair vehicles, school buses, buses and taxis are excluded from this ban as they serve an important purpose on how the economy runs.
WHAT PLANS ARE THERE IN THE CITY TO MAKE THEIR POWER SOURCE AND WASTE DISPOSAL SYSTEMS "GREEN" AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY?

Even though it’s population is increasing at a phenomenal rate, Guangzhou’s environmental quality has been improving constantly And this is due to its advanced geographical, economical and industrial development.

how will the city deal with the expanding population?
As their population is increasing dramatically, Guangzhou have been part of many schemes to try and ease the increasing pressure being put on their economy. Prior to 2014, Guangzhou had China’s one child policy in place but in March last year they relaxed the birth control system as they realised that the problem wasn’t that too many babies were being born as Guangzhou has had the same birth rate for year: 6.2% and the rapid growth of the city was primarily coming from migrants from nearby cities. Guangzhou is also a part of an ambitious plan to combine nine of China’s cities and turn it into the world’s biggest mega city with a population of over 42 million people. It was said that when the cities were integrated that it would even out the distribution of the countries facilities and transport while helping spread jobs more fairly across the region.
